Ewing Hall

Sunday night Sept 17/1922

Dearest Bill:

Grandmother got those pictures at Ms. <> and all of them were fine except one – and we could not tell what it was even with the magnifying glass. She has ordered some more of some of them and just told me she would attend to sending them to you. Did you know that a tree fell on Mr. Preachs cottage in that big storm and smashed the roof in?

I have not heard yet from the <diving chute> people and have written them a letter asking about it. I told them to send it yet if they could send at once. I enclose your picture postals and your mammas letter that you forgot.

I said goodbye for you to Buddy Pockands yesterday and gave him a bar of candy and told him you left it for me to give him. He was much pleased and so was his father and his mother who were with him. You also forgot to transplant your little spruce tree that you planted in “apple trees for growing Bill” but if you will tell me what to do with it I will do it. You said you were going to take that tooth home that you pulled while here but you forgot it but I have it safe and will do with it whatever you say to do. Maybe I better keep it and put “Lost Tooth” on the Bellarine Brand. We have been working hard and got lots of things done since you left. The tent and the <wigwam> and the <> and flying dutchman and the target are all down and put away, besides lots of other things done.

We found the pistol yout Mamma gave you and put it away. I cut an awful gash in my left hand yesterday with the sharp hatchet but I put <> plaster on it right away and drew it together and I guess its doing all right now. The weather has got pretty cold and as I have no company anyhow I have stopped bathing and so has everybody else here. Billy is going to climb our flag pool to put new <> up next Sunday. I hope you got home safe and got started to <> all night. Its awful lonesome here without you how do you find it there without us. With love to all. Affectionately– Bill.
